The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

Abel Lowen, a Stringshaper, gets woke up by his apartment's alarm clock in the middle of the night. When he'll finally get up, late for his band's rehearsal, he will find out that almost nothing seems to be working properly. What's happening? Are others experiencing the same problems? Why is his neighbour hallucinating in the middle of the hallway? Spanish Translation by Maximiliano Vaccaro (https://twitter.com/maxivaccaro - https://www.linkedin.com/in/maxivaccaro/en)

AGS Awards Nominations

Nominated, Best Music & Sound 2015

7 people commented on this game (newest first):

A landlord's Dream builds a huge world through clever writing with only 3 rooms to visit (and a terminal that enrichens the world) that has all your cyberpunk and scifi needs coverd with said terminals, implants, chargers, brainhacking and AI overtakes. Also a fantastic prophet is to be met and calmed by shutting down his visionary brain.
Some rather abstract puzzles are met with some fun puzzles, follow the video if you are stuck. The minimalistic soundtrack follows along with the story and the cool background graphics in low colorcount pixelart.

Thanks everybody for the lovely comments and the helpful feedback!

Also, to answer cat: yes, while we were developing it we noticed how the world was getting fairly out of scope for a MAGS game and this led to an unfortunate series of cuts to the gameplay. We spent too much effort in giving purpose and "life" (though music, sound, dialogue and art) to the few rooms available rather than focusing on puzzles, and it shows.

The good news is that we are planning on working further on this as we speak :) So please stay tuned, if you want, and thanks again!

Interesting setting and good story telling with a deep game world. The graphics are fantastic and the music is fitting. However, there are hardly any puzzles and no real gameplay.

Fairly short, but exciting game. The story is for me quite original, and very nicely developed. Puzzles are fairly straight-forward, characters look like they are from some 90's action film, I hope to see some more one day :)

Cool music, great graphics and an interesting cyberpunk atmosphere. This is a slice of a cool world; makes me wish the game were longer.

It was a pleasure to help make this game - a great cyberpunk vibe throughout despite the very small game due to the constraints of it being a MAGS game. Lovely graphics too!

This is good and you should have some

I could best compare this game with an exotic dish in which you can still detect some raw ingredients but that somehow contributes to the overall exquisite taste. I can't tell you how it's called because I'm almost a stranger to the intellectual background of the recipe or the sci-fi lingo. Also because I was a bit lazy and played it in a rush. But even so, it managed to reach familiar strings in imagination, enough to evoke the atmosphere of that other world where some of your forgotten dreams may still leave. It has that quality of leaving a vivid impression in the memory... Oh, look... it's glittering in that corner of my mind and I can't stop smiling to it...
